PORTABLE APPLIANCE TESTING AND PERIODIC INSPECTION TESTING

The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) is the legislative framework created to ensure that electrical equipment and appliances are tested regularly. This legislation applies to appliances which can be used by both employees and the public in places such as schools, hospitals, shops or any other areas to which the public have access. Testing also applies to equipment that is hired, supplied, repaired or serviced.

We can test appliances and equipment in commercial properties and all of our testing complies with British Standard 7671.

AN ELECTRICAL CONDITION REPORT

(Formerly known as a Periodic Inspection Report)

An electrical survey, known as an Electrical Condition Report has many purposes and uses.

It will reveal if electrical circuits are overloaded, find potential hazards in the installation, identify defective DIY work, highlight any lack of earthing or bonding and carry out tests on the fixed wiring of the installation.

The report will establish the overall condition of all of the electrics and comprehensively state whether it is satisfactory for continued use, then detailing any work that might need to be carried out.

T & M.E. Jackson can test your installation then issue a satisfactory certificate or in some cases supply a list of remedial work and costs in all types of buildings. Whether you are the proprietor, landlord, employer or someone else with responsibility for Health and Safety, we can help you. Secure in the knowledge that all our testing is carried out by qualified electricians, you can be assured that our reports are accepted by the major insurance, mortgage and letting associations and in most cases a NICEIC report is the only one that they will accept.

The frequency of the inspections depends on how the building is being used. If you're not sure when yours needs to be tested, please give us a call.
